I hate it but we spent most of the day at the condo.   I am trying to recooperate from being ill so we decided to spend the day just sitting and relaxing.   I'm not very good at relaxing so I was relieved when I realized around 3 that David needed beer!  Hooray!   We drove to Kmart and got Hawaiian beer.  It was called Primo Island Lager .  It has pictures of the hawaiian islands: says brewed with pure island cane and says the proceeds help preserve the environment and culture of the islands... sounds good! .... but at home ... upon closer inspection... we found it is brewed in Irwindale, California for the Primo Company of Honolulu.  crap.  Haven't tried it yet but we are a little disillusioned by the deception....

We tried to find the dollar tree as I wanted shampoo and sun tan lotion.

... we looked for quite a while (based on directions from a 10 year old in kmart....and it was accurate)  then we found it:  One dollar and More.  Well.... walking around the store was like walking in a large rummage sale.  The items were shop worn, faded, frayed, dirty and priced well over a dollar.   It was quite a disappointment although we were impressed by packages of frozen frogs legs in the freezer section.  Huge legs....   Also at the back of the store was some very over priced (about $30.00) beads for a door.   David liked the hula girl and I liked the island scene ... but we would never pay $30.... Plus they did not have sun tan lotion or shampoo....  We left and just shook our heads ..... good golly....

I forgot to take my camera when we went shopping but I am very impressed by the many beautiful plants growing next to the roads...  I saw what appeared to be pink Plumaria.... I need to photograph them.....  Hopefully tomorrow....

Hi Valerie... Thanks.... Is Mom able to look at the blog? She has been trying lately.

We are eagerly anticipating your arrival... it will be so fun! We went to the farmers market today and got Papayas and dragon fruit. You'll love both! we saw dragon fruit in China... We are starting a list of activities we'll be doing... I am darned tired or recooperating although I do think I have healed by sitting around. Love you! Sylvia
