Selamat Datang ke Taman Negara!
As i have mentioned, Taman Negara (Pahang) is the oldest national park in Malaysia where the highest peak in Peninsular Malaysia, Gunung Tahan (2,183m) is located. People said it's the most challenging hiking trail (making Mount Kinabalu much more easy to climb). The park covers three states (Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan). The park has two entrances: Kuala Tahan, Sg Relau (a.k.a Merapoh, a town nearby). Kuala Tahan is a popular entrance and it's commercialized. On the other hand, Sg Relau/ Merapoh entrance is more unknown and it's run by PERHILITAN (Department of Wildlife and National Parks).

Early April 2009, I joined a trip organized by an eco-friendly club to Merapoh. The mission of our trip is to help promote Merapoh as a popular entrance point to Taman Negara and Gunung Tahan. Our tasks include labeling the exotic forest species along the trails for education purposes, come up with ideas to promote this place and PLAY! My idea of promoting it is by writing a review. Jom Taman Negara, jom Merapoh!
