Maxwell's - The Venue We Called Home For 3 Days.
The 15th and the final day in Hoboken. We started the morning off by
doing laundry and walking around Hoboken. Had a cup of hot chocolate at
a cafe. My hot chocolate is better. Picked up the laundery. Looked at
some houses for sale. Ate at the delicious pizza place again. Then I
went for my first massage. I had no clue what to do. It was at a
chinese massage place and they sent in the only boy that works there.
He told me that I have to take my top off. He comes back in and he said
and your bra and you lay face down on the table. He said he'd leave but
I didn't care and took it off. He's putting a towel on my lower back
and THEN takes HIS shirt off. Is that supposed to happen?! I could hear
the table creaking where my boss was in the other room and some slaps
and drop kicks or whatever was going on.
Strollin To Get Some Pizza.
I won't lie the massage did
hurt a bit. I'm a pretty boney girl though so I imagine that's why. He
spent about a half hour massaging my butt. It was a very strange
experience. Afterwards the boss and I walked down to the water and sat
on a bench talking. I admired the distance of New York. I'm not too
fond of that city. It's cool for one night. It was another jam packed
night for the band. Our old touring buddy merch girl for The Alarm Lily
came out to the show. I ended up talking to a few women that came out
to see English Beat last time we were in Asbury Park
at the Stone Pony.
They were excited to chat. That crazy chick from the night before ended
up showing up again asking what we were doing. I said nothing.. nothing
All in all Maxwell's is a good venue. Kinda of a dark
place to sell merch. A little toasty but the people at the venue are
cool. Especially Paco that works in the kitchen. I had a dance with him
to The Monkees "Daydream Believer".
