We haven't left our post in Sacramento yet, and are enjoying the perks of seeing old friends, eating as much local food as possible, and oh, cleaning, packing, and deciding what we'll actually need to be gone an indefinite amount of time! We were thrown a fabulous going away party on Saturday, complete with slip-n-slide, dj, and pinata. Thanks to all who put it together! We've got just 5 more days here, and have both confessed that we go through waves of excitement and extreme, dizzying nausea. It hasn't stopped us from visiting our favorite soulfood spot, Sandra Dee's, for some last minute tri-tip and ribs. Nor has it stopped us from hitting the Davis Sushi BUffet for midday blood sugar slump relief! We still have Squeeze-Inn Burgers and Caballo Blanco for Mexican food (oh how we will miss the mexican food!). We've been cracking up, because we want to say goodbye to California properly, and the way we do that seems to be by eating the largest amount of food we ever have. We've got some rafting planned for Wednesday- one last float down the American River- and some last minute shopping on Thursday, then depositing our stuff in storage on Friday, relaxing on Saturday, then we fly to the big blue yonder. Okay, we lied in the title a little bit... It's not Southeast Asia IMMEDIATELY- we have a 2 month stop in Hawaii. Oh well, guess we lied a lil' bit. We already miss everyone, and we hope to see you all somewhere along the road.
