In the evening we had a walk through the town and booked ourselves on a tour for the following day.
In the morning our trip started with a really fun off road drive towards the rainforest followed by a two hour trek through the jungle looking for the Rafflesia flower. Unfortunately we only saw one flower starting to bloom and another which had been opened for over a week and so it had turned black. On the way back to the jeeps the heavens opened and we all got soaked through.
Next we visited a tribal Orang Asli village where we got the chance to hit a target using a traditional blow pipe. From here we went on to the Boh tea plantation where we had a short tour of the tea making process before enjoying a cup of tea with wonderful views of the tea terraces.
After lunch we drove to Gunung Brinchang the 2nd highest mountain in Penisula Malaysia. We also visited a strawberry farm where we tried fresh strawberry milkshake and then went to an insect and butterfly farm. There were some very interesting insects and reptiles and we got to handle some of them including, beetles, grasshoppers, scorpions and snakes.
