On our first day we visited Chinatown and enjoyed some shopping and wandering around looking at the old shophouses. We also visited the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Thian Hock Keng Temple. We then walked to the Colonial district along the quayside and viewed the Esplanade Theatre, Raffles Hotel and a couple of churches and a cathedral before visiting the excellent Asian Civilisations Museum.
Over the next couple of days we went to Little India and Kampong Glam (the Arab area) both of which seemed to be primarily set up for tourism. We also went to the Malay Heritage Centre, a Hindu temple and a Mosque.
On our final day we enjoyed sitting by the quayside at the Brewerktz microbrewery enjoying a jug of golden ale.
