Fishing Boats
After seeing the stunning volcanoes we travelled by bus a ferry to Bali to head to Lovina.  Everything was going to plan until we were told after the ferry arrived in Gilimanuk, Bali we would be unable to catch an onward local bus to Lovina.  The port area was virtually deserted even at 7pm, the only mode of transport being the shuttlebus that leave when full.  Unfortunately it wasn't!

A local would pay 19500 Rupiah to get to Lovina and between the 5 westerners (us, 2 French & 1 Hungarian)  450000 Rupiah was demanded!  After 2 hours of a head to head standoff with the bus driver it was finally agreed after some hard bargaining that we would pay 300000 Rupiah between us.  Unfortunately the Hungarian decided otherwise and start renegotiating with us as he thought he should be entitled to pay less than everyone else.  The reason for his arguement was that he wanted to stay in a nicer hotel and needed the money.

Anyway we decided to split the 300000 between 4 of us and left the Hungarian to enjoy the sea breezes in Gilimanuk.

We stayed at Angsoka Cottages in Lovina which had a nice room and a very nice swimming pool.  The town had a nice beach and we walked along it in the daytime before finding some nice restaurants in the evenings.
