Kuala Lumpur
July 4, 2009
We flew into Kuala Lumpur from Hong Kong. We were here for just a couple of days stopover before heading onwards to Laos.
We stayed at the Backpackers Travellers Inn in Chinatown which was not the best hostel we have stayed in, but it was reasonably priced and in a great location.
Our time was spent visiting the Petronas Towers, although unfortunately we turned up too late to get tickets for the skybridge but hopefully we will get another opportunity when we return to Malaysia in a couple of weeks time. We also visited Little India and a small market and the very peaceful Masjid Jamek Mosque. We also saw the Menara Kuala Lumpur Tower (the 4th largest telecommunications tower in the world), but we didn't go up the lift to the top as it was too expensive.
We enjoyed the Central Market and the Petaling Market and trying some of the many food stalls in Chinatown.
