First Day In Vancouver
September 8, 2009
After very little sleep in the airport I went outside to assemble my bike at about half 6, just as it was getting light. I soon set off to have a look around Stanley Park. I found the roads a little scary to ride on at first due to their size but I soon got used to it and was impressed by how car drivers treated cyclists.
I rode around the edge of Stanley Park and then went up to Capilano Suspension bridge. The admission price was a little steep for what was there but I enjoyed a little walk around.
I then went to check into the youth hostel an walked along the beach to downtown, just over an hours walk. I was taken aback by the number of people that were on bikes or out running! I wasn't impressed by downtown but I was very tired and couldn't really be bothered to walk any more so I headed back to the youth hostel and went to bed.
