my dutch water dream!
We went rafting in Zoetermeer at Dutch Water Dreams (DWD), it was my birthday present!
First you get yourself into this wetsuit and life-vest. Put on your helmet and you get some instructions...which i didnt really understand...
After the instructions they let you swim a part of the whitewater course, so you will know what it feels like when you fall out of the boat! They told when you fall out of the boat always try to swim away from the boat. Hmm when i had to swim i couldnt really get away from this up side down boat, so i felt a bit like drowning and was looking forward to staying into our boat!
Time for rafting with our instructor! Everybody of the group stayed in the boat the entire time! Somebody punched me in the face because of the command ´lock and roll´! (well i think it sounded something like that!) The instructor is saying that whenever he thinks its getting a bit dangerous, people might fall out of the boat.
A photographer of DWD took a lot of pics, but its going to take while before we will get them. Thats why i took some pics of other people to get you an idea of sports at DWD. DWD is an Olympic-level whitewater sports complex where you re able to experience rafting, hydrospeeding, tubing and canoeing. Indoor you can experience surfing, bodyboarding and flowboarding.

We went rafting on a saturday in june.
To book for rafting you need a group of at least 5 people. You can go rafting with less people but you dont get your own boat.
You must be at least 12 years old and hold the Dutch swimming certificates A & B.
The whitewater course is open all year round. If the weather is so bad that it would be irresponsible to open the whitewater course it will be announced on the website.
Rafting might be a bit expensive but its great to experience whitewater rush in flat Holland!
The course is about 300m metres in length, so in 1 hour after instruction we were 5 times on the course because it was a bit busy.
So bring your swimsuit and towel, free lockers are available, and have so much fun! You can always take a look at the website for special offers!
