Jenny and I had been to the 50th Anniversary of D-Day in 1994, so this was a very special trip to attend for us on many levels. Although we had a great time meeting the few remaining veterans from the world's Greatest Generation, we were also saddened by the news that our French hosts from 1994 had both passed away. Along the way we found a great place to stay in beautiful and relaxing Etretat and we crossed some awesome bridges. We even saw President Obama's plane. Great trip!

65th Anniversary of D-Day with Veterans Ceremony

Since we atteneded the 50th Anniversary of D-Day in 1994, we have longed to return to Ste Mere Eglise to visit with veterans of the Greatest Generation and our French hosts. We had to avoid the single closed highway from Caen to Omaha Beach due to PResident Obama's motorcade. In doing so, we actually went right by the Caen Airport where his planes were parked. Then we travelled to the West before shooting up to our goal of Ste Mere Eglise. It was a very special trip for us on many levels.
