Giants Causeway-ness
The Giant's Causeway (or Itish: Clochán na bhFómharach) is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. It is located on the northeast coast of Ireland, about two miles (3 km) north of the town of Bushmills. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986, and a National Nature Reserve in 1987 by the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland. In a 2005 poll of Radio Times readers, the Giant's Causeway was named as the fourth greatest natural wonder in the United Kingdom. The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal, although there are also some with four, five, seven and eight sides. The tallest are about 12 metres (36 ft) high, and the solidified lava in the cliffs is 28 metres thick in places.
The Giant's Causeway is today owned and managed by the National Trust and it is the most popular tourist attraction in Northern Ireland.
There...didn't want to leave any of the technical stuff out!
But essentially it is a really beautiful place particularly on a good day. The cliffs are impressive and the stones really unique.
Take a look! We walked along and down the path to the very end, then right back on ourselves, and up the cliff face (mum was not too impressed with this one) up a horriffic number of steps, and back along the top of the cliff. It is a good 5mile walk if not nearer the 7 at a guess.
Needless to say we went for lunch after that and then went home. I think mum was ready for a lie down by the time we had finished :)

Roadtrip number 2
As I mentioned, this one was with my mum. I was going to go on my own but she fancied a day out. We somehow managed to get a sunny day, in March, yes...i know.... but it was enough to get the roof down and enjoy the ride. Mum doesn't particularly like the wind in her hair as she's driving along unless it is really warm (which it wasn't) so although a pleasant temperature, she felt a 'draught' (ahaha) and tied her scarf round her head, Thelma and Louise Style. Well, since I'm Louise, I told her she had to be Thelma...
We went This time to the Giants Causeway.......!
