Day 14: Himeji
We took off in the morning to go to Himeji, to visit the Castle and the nearby Koko-en Garden and in the afternoon we were gonna visit Nara. It was a bright sunny day, so perfect for a visit to these 2 cities.
We took the train to Himeji and then walked towards Himeji Castle. I'm very fond of this castle, the first time I saw it was in a James Bond movie called "You Only Live Twice" and ever since I wanted to go there. That dream came true in 2000, during my first visit to Japan. So, this time I had more time visiting the castle on my own and the nearby Koko-en Garden. I only had a glimpse of it in 2000.
As said above, I got my ticket for both the castle and the garden and took off on my own. While going towards the entrance of the castle itself, I walked onto a filmset, apparently they were shooting a BBC series as I was told.
Then I went to the Koko-en Garden, as I wanted to spend more time there. It's a beautiful garden since there were very little people inside, it was nice and quiet and perfect for taking pictures without having people on it - which I don't want.
We walked back to the train station and bought lunch at croissanterie, which we ate on board while we went to Nara.
