I found this profile shot and just had to change it so I could see more detail. It was either taken in the very early morning or just before the sunset looking up at this wonderful piece of architecture. It is a picture of a church in Mainz, Germany according to (efo151), Fred.
Well, I had to find out a little more about this church and found out that it is the Mainz Cathedral and was begun over a thousand years ago. Early construction was Romanesque but many alterations, renovations, and additions have been done so there is a hint of lots of styles. It damaged during World War II and more reconstruction has continued. Today, although continually being worked on this wonderful structure has celebrated more than a thousand years of continual use.
