If Lyon is a foody capital, one of our former mayor nicknamed ZIZI decided in the sixties to make Lyon the CAPITAL OF CONCRETE and OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION in building the FOURVIERE TUNNEL,the most horrible landscape on French roads, gateway to the Autoroute du Soleil, which allows since 1971 to all the European cars and trucks to ride on a highway through Lyon center!!!
Fortunately we have some open spaces and green areas around the center of the city and tiny green sqares in the peninsula.
The Palais Saint Pierre,a former convent rebuilt in the 17th century houses the FINE ARTS MUSEUM of Lyon and a coffee shop.
