Through TX and into Ok
July 1, 2009
They say there are 14 Eskimo words for snow. In the same way, I beleive there must be 14 words in the language of the Chokta (a Native American band prevalent around here) for flat.
"Flat"
"Flat with sage brush"
"Flat with White Man"
"Flat with White Man smoking sage brush"
"Flat with herds of Buffalo"
"Flat with cattle where the Buffalo used to be"
You get the idea.
The eastern 1/2 of New Mexico, all of the area of Texas we went through and most of Oklahoma is freaking flat.
The conversation dries up:
"Wow, honey, it still is flat"
"Yeah... It is. Look how flat that part is...."
"Yeah"
<pause>
"Think I would get a ticket doing 95 MPH"
"Who cares - put your foot into it"
The weather has gotten humid. That is something.
