This is a record of the US-Canada road trip by the Western McFaddens

Missile Museum

This page will have pictures.

Going to this place seemed like a bit of a risk.  We had to go back west 50 or 80 miles and it seemed liked it might be not worth it.  However, we were delighted with the place.  And Ryan and Liam went crazy with all of the hardware on show.  There were lots of cold war era missiles on display, with little write ups.

Some of the write ups, if true, indicate the insanity of the era.  There were several missiles that had ranges of less than 40 miles (one as little as 12 miles) that were designed for either conventional or nuclear warheads.    I mean really.  Does any one really want to pop off a hot one and have it land 12 miles away?  Really?  Is that a strategy that anyone could live with?

Anyway, the museum is actually pary of millitary base, is well kept up, has no cover charge (I like that) and is worth the drive.
