Doing the touristy thing.

Of course, we have to do the touristy trap thing.  Today we visited Hollywood and Beverly Hills.  Even though Eva and I lived in LA and have done this before, it was enjoyable to see the kids get excited by the Hollywood sign and the characters on Hollywood Blvd and the fancy houses in Beverly Hills.  We drove to a good place to see the sign and enjoyed some of the rugged terrain.  The weather was pretty good - by which I mean that it was not too hot to overwhelm the air conditioning and the horizontal visibility was more than a couple of miles.  I have seen much worse weather in LA.

We spent a good amount of time wandering around Hollywood Blvd talking with some high powered celebrities - both living and deceased, and then driving through the famed Hollywood Hills and Beverly Hills.

As an aside, I have not yet picked up the writing again.  What I am working on is pretty dark and disturbed right now and it seems like to much mental effort to switch from a glorious, sunny trademark Southern California day shared with loved ones to documenting evil incarnate.  Maybe after a couple more days of driving with kids, I can make that mental leap :-)
