One day in Vienna

We woke up around 7.30 am to have breakfast in the hotel. Once we finished we decided to visit the Stadtpark. As there was nothing too interesting to see on the way we decided to rent a bicycle. They have this great system where you register your profile and credit card information in an ATM and you can rent any bicycle all around the city. We could get one of them under my girldfriend´s credit card, but for some reason, mine failed and we could not get both! ☹ so we had to walk!

The day was beautiful, maybe too warm, but the perfect day to take photos! Check them out! We slept so much the night before that we were full of energy! We wanted to visit the whole place in our last 5 hours in the city! ☺ everyone was lying down on the grass, sunbathing, cycling all around, and as usual, we ended up in a bar having a cold beer.
.. hehehe Everthing looks nicer after a beer ☺

Then we got back to The Ring and visited Konzerthaus, Schwarzenberg platz, Karlslirche until we got back to where we started walking along The Ring the day before! By the time we got back to Stephansplatz was almost 1pm, so we decided to go for lunch to a typical restaurant published on Lonely Planet. The place was gorgeous but food was not as good as we expected. I am attaching a review.

Around 3pm we headed back to the hotel to get our luggage to get the ferry on time! Last ferry to Bratislava is at 4.30pm. It is a pitty we did not have time to have a Mojito right next to the river. On the opposite shore where you get the ferry, you find tons of Beach sand bars! I am attaching some photos so you get an idea!

Once we got back to Bratislava, we just left our luggage in the apartment and we headed to the Bratislava Castle.
We recommend you to take Panska  Laurinská (street full of bars, cafeterias and restaurants) and then go all the way up along Ventúrska Michalská until you reach St. Michael´s Gate, which is the only gate to the city that has been preserved. From there you will find clear signs on how to get to the castle. There is no much to see there with the exception of the History Museum and  the best views over the city! If you cross the castle and you exit through the Vienna Gate you find one of the best places to go for a drink or have dinner! We had a Mojito enjoying the sunset and its beautiful views...! At dinner time we headed back to Hlavné nam as the day before we found a Japanese Restaurant right on the square. Check our review!

Believe it or not, it was Monday night and there was many people going for a drink on nice terraces over the cobblestone streets. Time to go to bed! ☺

Beautiful restaurant next to Stephansplatz
I usually trust Lonely Planet in all its recommendations but this time I must say it failed! The restaurant is really nice and the service is good too… read entire review
