Shopping and some hiking

Today is my day! Yesterday was designated shopping day, today is hiking day. All we had to do was begin with church and then go back and change into some hiking clothes. And we began the hike, by hiking downtown Fish Creek. Wait a minute. This isn't the hiking I had in mind. But I did steal some shopping time yesterday for some hikes, so we hiked in and out of a few shops. This was fine, there were some more interesting shops in Fish Creek than the other towns, a little more variety and some things that were actually of interest to me. And we finished the morning hike by getting some lunch on our walk back, an ice cream cone. Delicious, of course we did have some leftovers in the hotel room from the night before.
After lunch, and a nap, it was time for the hike. Fish Creek is just on the outside of Peninsula State Park. Which appears to be a great park. This seems to be the big draw for people with families. While some people enjoy the shopping, and it doesn't seem to be a great place for little kids, within the park are lots of hiking and biking trails, and with a few bike rental shops outside the park, it would be a large recommendation for a small town family weekend. We however did not pay for the bikes, and stuck so some trails with a stop at a light house, and a stop at the lookout tower from which you can see the neighboring towns, much of Green Bay (not the city) and across the Peninsula you can see a sliver of Lake Michigan.
That night we visited a restaurant a little north of us that was a little pricier. I had a Tuna Steak Sandwich (delicious) and Brenda had Fried Chicken for $16. And it came out cold. A little disappointed for the amount of money that was paid, I found the waiter and she said she would take care of it. We felt a little bad because we are not complainers when we go out to eat. Normally we just suck it up and move on, but for the price we thought we should just say something.
With it being Sunday night, we came to the realization that all must end, and tomorrow was our drive back to home. Brenda would drive so I could get back to the homework, but for a couple days, it was great to be able to hang out with my wife again. (It is now summer break, which is why I am able to spend time writing this, she is at work :)
