Fish balls
RJ and Jegs were in town and we were going to meet them at the MRT station and head somewhere for dinner. The original plan had been to visit Modern Toilet but Jegs was having some real problems with intestinal issues so we opted to head somewhere else. They met us as the MRT with another TB, Jason, who is a local. He offered to drive and we all went to Danshui which is north of us a bit. I love this area - along the water and really pretty apartments, buildings, and neat shops.
We walked around a bit taking some photos and then headed to the Red Castle on the hill for dinner. I had read about Red Castle and it is supposed to have some of the best views of the city. We got settled in and Brett had to go take a conference call that ended up lasting the entire time we were there! I guilted him a bit and he felt bad so he picked up the entire dinner tab.
Holy cow look at those balls!
LOL. We had let Jason order all the food and everything was excellent although I agree with RJ that the soup was very salty...perhaps due to all the seafood.
Afterwards, we stopped for some pearl milk tea and then wandered a bit more. Brett and I said goodbye as they were headed to the Fishermans Wharf area and it was relatively late - sadly Brett had to be to work in the morning. So awesome to meet another local TB and what a blast to hang with RJ and Jegs in Taiwan! Fortunately, they would be coming over tomorrow as well (using us for our laundry facilities...lol) and then dinner again before they depart to Southern Taiwan the next morning!
