I was in the gym when my husband called. He asked me if I want to accompany him attending a meeting in Bogor. I thought, why not? I have never stayed in Bogor before. Bogor is so close with Jakarta but I never see it as a tourism destination, at least to spend the weekend. So, this is the chance to do so, treating Bogor as one place to go....
I went back home instantly.
Packed everything and went directly.
Left home at 09.00 pm.
Arrived 12.35 pm.
Very sleepy. Bogor was dark, quiet, and rainy.
In the morning, we walked around the hotel to feel its atmosphere. It is Novotel Coralia Bogor. I think it is one of the best hotels which Novotel or Accor Group has in the world.
We went out for lunch at "Makaroni Panggang". Then, we drove around the city just to find out what it looks like. Bogor is a small city. It is easy to understand the directions to some places. After seeing it, I conclude there are 3 main places to see in Bogor:
1. Botanical Garden and Zoological Museum.
This is a must to see place if you visit Bogor.
2. Restaurants and food stalls.
Some delicious food are based in this so called rain city. Among them are: Roti Unyil, Vegetable Rujak and Fruit Rujak, Martabak Mini, Sundanese Food (grilled fish and chicken) and so on.
3. Factory Outlet.
Though as not many as Bandung has.
Back to the hotel, the kids swim at the pool.
Swimming session is continued at the small pool in front of our room. Then, eat Hoka-Hoka Bento (Japanese Fast food) as for the dinner (Take Away. We bought this food on the way to go back to the hotel).
Last Day. Sunday, June 7, 2009.
We checked out, bought some (to be honest: a lot of) food for taking it to home. Lunch at Ny. Yenny restaurant (turned out to be not delicious) then go to the highway to go back to Jakarta.
Arriving Jakarta, I dropped my husband at another hotel for another meeting: Kempinski at Grand Indonesia.
So, goodbye Bogor! It's a pleasant weekend you gave us for sure!
