Homemade and kinda improvised Paella - La Tour Fondue Style!
The food. "What's with the food, buddy?" you might ask.
Well, you're in France. People here like to eat. People here like high quality food. People celebrate dining in this country.
If people go out for dinner, it takes time. Not just a steak with fries or a pizza, eaten in a few minutes...

When you are on a campground, you'll most likely cook outside or have BBQ.
So did we. My buddy's brother-in-law brought his big gas-powered Paella pan, which was used to cook dinner every night.
One night was Paella night. To get the ingredients, we went to Geant Casino, a very big supermarket in Hyeres.
I love those french supermarkets! They are really big, just like in the US, and they have excellent food. Prices are higher than in Germany, but the quality is better, so it's worth it.
As the meditarrean is just minutes away, they have all sorts of fresh sea food there. Fresh meaning that some of the seafood is still alive, like crab or lobster.
We picked up different types of seafood like fish, prawn and other crustaceans, some vegetables...well, everything you need to cook a nice seafood paella and also some baguette and of course beer for the guys haha
Ok, I forgot to mention the wine ;-)

After getting back to the campground, everybody helped to prepare dinner: cut the vegetables, set the table, install the pan, drink beer ;-)
Great fun to cook dinner this way - and even more fun to enjoy eating it! :-)
