So I was very excited when we headed to St. Tropez the other day. It's about 60 km from Giens, so it took us about an hour to get there. Roads were pretty crowded this day, so it took us nearly two hours to get there. We were lucky to get a good parking spot near downtown. It was very crowded there as well, many many tourists checking out the place... In the old movies the city looked more lonesome... but those movies were from the '60s haha
However, it was quite interesting to see the place. Many big and expensive yachts lying there. We walked around a little bit, had something to drink and a cone of ice cream. For my taste, far to many tourists there! So we didn't stay for long and took the old curvy coast road to get back to Giens. It's longer than autoroute and VERY curvy, so it also took some two hours to get back to our wild campground La Tour Fondue. Guess we all were very hungry that afternoon and everybody was looking forward to the BBQ we were planning to have in the evening.
Let's talk about food in the next blog entry... this is an important topic when you're staying in France!
