Agdz

We left Ouarzazate to go to the Draa Valley. The Draa Valley is on the foot of the city of Agdz. Agdz is located about 65 km south of Ouarzazate, 92 km north of Zagora. Agdz which means "resting place" is located on the old caravan route linking Marrakech to Timbuktu. Agdz long played an important economic role. Then, because of the drought years of 1970/1980 and lack of facilities of transportation, it has lost its importance, leading to much of the population to leave town in search of work. A big local market is held weekly on Thursdays.
