One Day in Tokyo...
August 21, 2009
I get into Tokyo, get to my hostel and try to meet up with Steph and Wayne... I get to the meeting point, but I fail to realize that EVERY metro station in Tokyo has ATLEAST 4 entrances, and most have 6!!! If you want to meet someone in Tokyo pick a place, a bar, with an address or else its a lost cause lol.
After trying to find Steph and Wayne, I headed to Sensoji Temple a really cool sight in the middle of Tokyo!
For dinner, we were able to all meet up, with me, Steph, Wayne, Eiko(Gloria) and Marco. We had some great japanese food and said goodbye to Gloria and Marco. We had to stop by Shibuya Station, which is famous for having the intersection that just gets filled up with people that ALL you see is people!!!
After Shibuya experience, we tried to find a club named 'Pure'. .. we walked, and we walked, and we couldn't find it... We did stumble on on a random street, that looked really cool and it was full of these tiny bars that could only fit about 6 people! We go into one that luckily had space for 3 small people. There were 4 others in the bar, who spoke very littl english, but after the sake started flowing, the conversation started to get better lol! We stayed here until closing and then got a cool photo with EVERYONE in the bar including the owner 'Mama'!
It was cool for us to talk to these strangers and communicate, but it was just as cool for them as well because tourists normally dont enter these bars so they wanted to talk to us as much as we wanted to talk with them. They had such a good time that they led us to 'Pure' and paid our entry fee of 10,000 Yen which is about 100usd!
It was all you can drink from a list, Wayne and I wanted to see how many of the drinks we can drink! I had 8 out of 12 drinks mainly because a few of them had tequila(so that is a no for me) and I really didn't want to be pucking the last night on my trip lol. Wayne was the winner, he finished the entire list :)
