We booked our trip through GoWay Travel, but I believe it was a package directly from Air Tahiti Nui. It was a Killer deal!
The island is very quiet with not much to do. I wouldn't spend more than 3-4 days there in total. We were there for 8 and got really bored really quick.
Be prepared - The food and drinks are going to be REALLY expensive.
We went to the grocery store to try and pick up some snack food and perhaps save a few bucks but we discovered a similar pricing strategy there.
We went to a few restaurants while there. The one I can recommend for sure was Les Cocotier. It was really good food and the staff was really friendly. We also went to Le Sud - which was pretty good. Rudy's and Le Mahogany were "okay". There's a crepe place on the ocean side between the Pearl and the Airport that was amazing! - sorry, can't remember the name though. It's across the street from some shops and a pet-store.
We SCUBA dove a lot. If you're a diver, don't expect to be impressed. All the coral is dead due to some 30 year plague and won't be renewing itself for about 13 years. However, the shark experience was great fun. Lots of really big lemon sharks and black tip sharks.
Most excursions will cost about $200+ for about 4 hours of fun. We didn't do this, but Hiro's Tours offers a sting ray/dolphin swim excursion/picnic that a lot of people said was a lot of fun.
