Oh Thank Heaven
May 13, 2005
Having stayed an extra night in Naples has screwed us up a bit. We need to get moving. We have a lot of things to do in Rome. The first train leaves really early. We are determined to be on it. We wake up early, pack up and check out and run to the train station. TO ONCE AGAIN SEE THE TRAIN LEAVING WITHOUT US. We had missed it by seconds. We dropped our bags and sat on the floor. A bit discouraged, we had woken up so early and missed the train and now had to wait another hour for the next one. This wait included finding a wheeled dolly and the girls rolling each other around on it. I think at this point we were delirious. I took pictures of the amount of luggage we had amassed. The train finally showed up and we lumbered inside and promply fell asleep.
The ride to Rome was much longer than we thought it would be. We were surprised when we got there late morning. (we thought maybe an hour long train, again we were wrong). We get to Rome and hop a separate train to get to our hotel. We drop off all the luggage and then hope back on the train and head over to the Vatican City.
