the look out on the coast. Taken from the bus
The morning came early. We grabbed a short breakfast at the hotel and then made our way to the trains again. We headed down to Sorrento from Naples and then hopped on a bus. We wanted to go down the Amalfi Coast. Well this wasn't quite as easy as we thought it would be. There were transfers and getting stuck in towns we were unsure of and we never were quite sure where exactly the Amalfi Coast was. Was it just a region? Was there a specific spot?
And the one thing no one had told us. Bus drivers area crazy!! We're on the ledge of a cliff and they are proceeding as if the cliff is not there and the car next to us doesn't exsist. The best part was when we went through the tunnel and scraped the tunnel with the mirrors on the sides of the bus.

Surprisingly the mirror and tunnel remained intact. We finally got to a specific town (and I kill myself for not remembering the name of the town) and we get off the bus for a while. We find a lovely Gelato place and grab some gelato and chill by the water. I love looking at the water. It has this awesome green tint and its like no water I've ever seen before.
We go grab lunch and decide we have to get a move on if we are going to get back. The trip down took much longer than we thought it would and we need to hurry back and grab our luggage and then take the last train to Rome where we have resevered a hotel for the night.
Here at lunch we meet this seemingly lovely British couple. They are older and travel for fun now. The man told us about renting and driving a car in the area and the woman told us about the Sistine Chapel. I now wish we had never listened to them. They told us you had to pay $200-300 Euro to get into the Sistine Chapel and how you have to get reservations weeks in advance and if you didn't have them you wouldn't get in. After hearing this disturbing news we didn't even try to go into the Sistine Chapel and I so regret it.
Anyways we finish lunch and part ways. We grab the bus and head back the long way up to Naples. We arrive at the train station as the train we need to take to Rome is leaving. Our bags are still at the hotel and we are stuck.
We try to cancel the reservation in Rome to no avail. You cannot cancel with about an hour's notice. We try to find a train, bus or even a taxi to take us to Rome. We got laughed at. We went back to the hotel and rechecked in for the 2nd time. sigh! We paid for two hotels that night. One is Rome and one In Naples. At least we travel in style. ha!
