Hi Everyone, Here's a place where we thought we could keep people up to date as to where we were and how far off-plan we end up. Enjoy!

Rome calling

Whew, here we go!  Finally an internet connection and thus a "real-time" update.  Yes, we're currently in Rome, staying at a place called the Beehive.  It's a sweet little hostel with these self-contained apartment suites you can rent, we're in a 3-bedroom unit with Jen's parents and it's pretty sweet having a kitchen as food's really expensive here.  Actually everything's really expensive here, I'll stop complaining about Vancouver prices.

So our second night here and adventures thus far include: **driving** into the middle of the city to drop off the luggage before driving back out to ditch the car at the airport rental dropoff, figuring out the transit system, pounding the pavement in amazement at all the ruins in this city, and avoiding heatstroke in the blazing sun and heat.  Today was the flea market and Musei Capitolino, tomorrow the Colosseum, then the vatican and we're off to Sorrento on Wednesday!  Kind of a quick visit but we're looking forward to relaxing a but along the Amalfi coast, hopefully taking thing a bit slower and figuring out our plans for the rest of the trip until mid-August! We're considering skiping sicily in favour of visiting some Greek islands instead, we'll see how things go.

I'll be trying to update photos and "updates" from some previous destinations...it's just so busy on vacation!
