Get ready. Secure your feet. Forward paddle. Back paddle. Right back paddle. Down. Right side (high side). More power. Stop. Pura Vida-aaaaaaah!!!!!
Eighteen miles of class III and IV rapids, waterfalls, and lush jungle near the town of Tres Equis, one hour east of Turrialba. Leading us were great guides (ours was Daniel) and safety spotters from Explornatura eco-adventure company, totaling 12 rafters for the day, and I was the only female =), and yes, I was in keeping with the best of them.
This was such a fun, thrilling, and absolutely the most memorable travel experience I’ve had thus far, imagine white water rafting one of the considered top five rivers in the world, and survive....heck, I didn’t fall out of the raft!
We had casualties, comrades overboard, but no one got hurt, everyone stayed composed, shock more like, but the 15-20 minutes command and survival instructions were straightforward and helpful.
Quite a week………leading to the best activity Costa Rica offers. We leave for home tomorrow.
