Lyon likes Japan and its Japanese chefs,The Michelin guide too:the only 2 Lyon awarded chefs this year were Japonese(Takao Takano at Takao Takano and Tsuyoshi Arai at 14 Fevrier).
5 of the most famous Lyon Japonese chefs organized on the 23d May a charity dinner for Japan held in restaurant Rue Le Bec (Nicolas le Bec**) in the new district of Confluence.Tens of winemakers, food suppliers offered their products for this event that got a great success:we were almost 300 but many were waiting on the phone and outside.
Georges Dos Santos at Antic Wine in the Old Lyon,a famous sommelier and Porto seller was the brilliant organizer and raised more funds through an action(Japanese prints, fine wines...).
The dinner was really great as in a 2*or 3* restaurant but with more friendship and easy-going attitude served without delay all in the same time by dozens of staff and culinary school students. We had at least ten fine wines!mostly locals...
My check to the French Red Cross was a good action.....:)
