OVER THE ANDES

The six hour bus trip from Mendoza in westren Argentina to Santiago, capital city of Chile allows an extra hour (total of 7) during winter over the majestic Andes Mountain range. Off-season price one way is approximately $US12.50. There are many bus companies operating out of Mendoza, with various departure times daily. Rain and snow closed for a few days, so a 50 minute flight to Santiago was the fastest and most certain mode of transport available.
