GERMAN SETTLEMENT

This lovely city has a population of over 22,000. It was created by the arrival of German settlers brought by Vicente Perez Rosales in the middle of the 19th century. In summer, Puerto Varas is a charming place to develop different sports and nautical activities. The sustained growth of nearby Puerto Montt has returned this resort-city into a residential area, helping to increase the population and urban life.
