Our first taste of gelato in Italy!
We made it to Rome!  We went through customs and the guy didn't even look at us, he just took our passports, stamped them, and then waved us on.   After a bit of trouble finding our way to the train and trying to validate our tickets in the little yellow machines, we were finally on our way.

It was Valentines Day, so it was kinda depressing to be single in such a romantic country on the most romantic day of the year...but I was with a good friend and we were ready for our Italian adventure!  We got into the Termini train station and were having trouble finding the left luggage area.  We must've looked super lost 'cause a very nice Italian lady came up to us and said, "Let me help you!" :)  Every Italian we encountered was so friendly and helpful and I am grateful for their hospitality.  Anyway, we wandered around a bunch of piazzas, the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and got gelato (I had tiramisu and gianduia).

We spent what felt like forever at the Termini while we waited to take an overnight train to Torino....we were exhausted and couldn't wait to sleep on the train.  We were ready to go to our first Olympics!
