my favorite restaurants and cafes around my neighborhood!

Daikanyama is a secluded pocket in Shibuya with lots of little cafes, trinket shops, and a laidback atmosphere that is a nice retreat from the crowds of central Shibuya. I like coming here on the weekends, when everywhere else is a mess of people.
Artifagose (I have no idea what that means) is half cafe, half bakery. There is a variety of fresh breads and pastries to choose from, and a joint cafe that offers drinks and small plates. Half of the tables are indoors, a few are on the threshold, and half are out on the terrace, so you can sit wherever your heart desires. It reminds me of Europe, how you can enjoy the fresh air and people watch.
My sister and I shared a cheese plate, cold tomato soup, and some breads we bought at the bakery. The total was about $30. The portions are Japanese size (small) but the prices are reasonable. Wait, what am I saying, an iced tea is 650 yen ($6)! Oh Tokyo..
