Sacred music concert in San Juan Chapel
May 28, 2009
I have a friend who plays cello for the symphonic orchestra of Chihuahua, and she invited me to attend a concert they would perform at the San Juan Bautista chapel in Chihuahua City. The repertoire included music from Vivaldi and the Gloria from Haendel. The church is a very beautiful restored mission from the 1600's. The choir and soloists did a very good job!! Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. They will be doing some more concerts in the chapel, since the event was a complete success!

The beginning of Gloria in Excel…
There are better options than this...
It might be me, but I just don't understand the concept behind Microtels. Yes, the facilities are nice and very clean, but why would you pay the same for less room?? What's nice about feeling that you are sleeping in a cardboard box? If they were half the price of a Days Inn, I would understand, but no! Sometimes they are even more expensive!
Well, besides the serious space concern that I have already discussed (you'll see in the picture), the air conditioning system was old and noisy and the lights in the room, too dim. I didn't turn the television on, but it was an old and small set. Wireless internet was not a problem, but it's something you can also get in other hotels. The bathroom was ok, but it was almost the same size of the room!
I spent the night here because these hotels had always called my attention and I wanted to give it a try, but I don't think I will ever come back. I felt claustrophobic!

Great option for having beers with friends
This place is one of my favorite sport bars in Chihuahua. The mood is cool, waiters nice and friendly, beer not too expensive and music not excesively loud. Most times you can watch current sports events with your friends or sometimes enjoy music presentations, both live and on TV. The band that plays in this bar is really good and plays covers from both latin and american rock.
The location is also excellent, in one of the best neighborhoods of the city. They don't serve dinner, but the waiters can bring it for you from the restaurant next door. Their selections are usually typical mexican fast food like tacos and burritos. They are all very good!
If you like sports bars and you are ever in Chihuahua this is the place to go.
