Today we head back home. We catch the first airport shuttle to the airport. There are a couple of surfer guys taking the bus as well. They have been surfing on the (Pacific) coast for a week and they said it was fun. The line to check in is really long but we are here in plenty of time and the airport is small enough so it is not a big deal. After check in we grab some sustinance in the food court. Just a quick snack. Then it is on to the airport tax line and the x-ray machines. After a quick stroll through the duty free shop, which is actually quite nice we head over to our boarding gate and see that it is almost time to board. In no time we are on the plane and flying homeward bound.
On the plane they serve us an easy cheesy thing in a hamburger bun.
First stop Houston. Customs, then on to our flight to Denver.
Second stop Denver. A two hour wait for a flight that was delayed. We go to the Rock Bottom Brewery and have a nice meal with a beer.
Third stop Salt Lake City. A quick jaunt over to the gate and we are boarding our plane for home.
We land at Redmond airport (in Redmond, Oregon- a short 10 miles to Bend). The weather is a crisp 30 degrees and it is of course a bit of a shock to us sinse we have been in 90 degree weather for the past week. It is always welcoming to land at Redmond. It is a small airport and you can see the mountains when you step off the plane. As we area taxiing to our gate I call my friend to pick us up and by the time our bags come out he is here and we are heading home..................
