"miraculous staircase"

Took advantage of the beautiful weather and walked around downtown today.  Visited the Plaza, browsed the indian artisans selling their jewelry (and bought a cute pendant) in front of the Palace of the Governors, saw the Loretto Chapel that contains the miraculous staircase constructed with only square wooden pegs (no glue or nails) and has two 360 degree turns and no visible means of support, walked around Santa Fe's oldest neighborhood and had a delicious pizza at The Upper Crust.  Also saw St Francis Assisi Basilica and stopped in the Institute of American Indian Arts Museum.  It was even smaller than the Museum of Art containing one exhibit, and I was not fond of the artist whose works were on display.  Fortunately admission is only $5.

Next we went up on Museum Hill and toured the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture.  This was my favorite museum by far.  It had several interesting exhibits and they let us in free!  Sundays are free entry for NM residents but they let me go too.  YAY!
