On our way to Camalaniugan we stopped by at Sanchez Mira and had our lunch. We had halo-halo for our dessert. We arrived at Camalaniugan in the afternoon about 6pm or 8pm.

The next day for our day 1 trip in Cagayan, we woke up early in the morning and prepared for our trip to Callao Cave and Iguig Calvary Hills. Located in PeƱablanca, Cagayan, Callao Cave is one of the caves in the country being preserved by the government. It was another quite long road trip, but there's something unique about this cave, it is not located underground unlike the other usual caves. We climbed up to the stairs to reach the entrance of the cave. And by the entrance, there were some archaeologist from other countries studying the cave.

Our guide discussed some things about the cave, about the chambers, the inhabitants, rock formations and others animals that can be found inside the cave.

I spotted one animal inside the cave, an owl! I have one photo but the owl cannot be recognized because I was far from it.

Inside the cave there are many chambers, (I don't remember the total number), and there was this chamber that has an altar in it. The guide also showed us some rock formations and their names. There was this rock that looks like a green ice cream, that's why they named it pandan ice cream and there was also another that looks like a crocodile so they named it after that animal.

After our trip inside the cave, we rented a small cottage and ate our baon (packed lunch) there. After that, we went downstairs to callao river, and waited for the bangka (boat). After riding bangka, we stopped by for about an hour at a small tent near the river. The water was cold and clear and from our tent we can see the view of the mountain.

Our last stop that day was in Calvary Hills in Iguig. Big sized sculptures of Stations of the Cross can be found in Calvary Hills, about 7 ft tall or more. It was a vast hill and it looks almost like a golf course. I only had a few shots of Stations of the Cross, other stations are too far and we're running out of time. The travel time going back to the house was more or less 5 hours.
