im king of chinese lions
What's the first place u r supposed to see in Beijing? Of course the Forbidden City and Tienanmen! That was also our first destination at the time we finally got out of the hostel. I knew this was huge but i dint expect something that big! It's awesome to walk trough all the gates, courts and see how powerful the king was (well maybe they called him not 'king' but it was this kind of power i guess). (next part written by RJ) okay! so it was hot as usual but the little rooms of the emperor guy was cool.. we walked on one side where there were shadows so it wasnt that bad and we just sat down at a bench for a while and took off our shoes.. we saw lots of people eating ice cream and since it was really hot.. jegs decided that it was okay this time to get icecream also.
posing at the Forbidden City
hahah so we bought some and sat down again to eat the icecream. there was a little gallery in the forbidden city also which was full of the emperors brides stuff.. like gowns etc. it wasnt that impressive but it was airconditioned!! so we went there for a while. hehe then after we got out the forbiden city we went to the rail way station to buy tickets to shanghai on a sleeper train but we couldnt communicate to the ticket lady.. then she said there were no sleeper trains that go there and that we had to go on the hard seat one! but for 12 hours.... no thanks. heheh so we just bought airline tickets which were twice as much but less time (at the hostel) we tried to book these online but there were blocked sited adn stupid airlines etc..
Forbidden City gate
so itwas impossible so we got the front desk lady to do it for us.. hahah then i think we crashed in the hostel for a few hours cause we were tired and bepressed about the tickets. then we went to the temple of heaven in the park which was this round temple place.. the park was really nice and lots of people doing stuff like flying kites and dancing and playing games etc.. we were there till night time pretty much and there were bats everywhere...tiantan park! then we had dinner and went to the tienamen square again where there was new opera house shaped like an egg on water.. very cool! by this time it was late and we were tired again so we headed back to the hostel for sleep.
