Century Ave.
June 4, 2009
We landed in Shanghai... just a bit later than scheduled. Then we managed to go by bus to the centre (remember to learn some chinese characters, especially those ones which one can expect in city, like station, metro, road, airport and so on - it helped us a lot, coz there was no info in latin letters - just in chinese). Once in town we could easily catch the metro and get to the hostel (which was really nice place with clean bathrooms, free internet, bar and in the distance of 1 minute - whole street full of restaurants with good chinese food). And because it was pretty late, we went just for the walk in our borrough - Pudong. We went down the Century Ave. - this is the place where all the new modern high skyscrapers are built (or still being built). We took some pictures and enjoyed the nightlife there.

Nice clean hostel
We stayed here at the Beehome Hostel three nights. And the stay was great. It's maybe not located in the centre of the city but in the new booming area of Pudong (close to the maglev train to the airport, some 7mins to the metro and not more like 2 mins walk to bars with very good chinese food). They have at the hostel their own bar, common area to chill out or hung around with peeps, some games and terrace. It's very clean and their stuff is nice. (they gave me teh cool map of the planed metro network in Shanghai, although they have only one of it - thanks guys!) Free internet in the lobby and good coffe, (the bar itself was kinda expensive but they have promotions on special days, so we used it) You also get there city attractions maps and all the info u need. I would stay there again for sure.
