Big Buddha
May 28, 2009
We woke up and headed to meeting point with Amy and got all together to Lantau Island to see the Big Buddha statue. When we arrived to TungChung stn. we had to change for the cable car. It was pretty high and we had great view over the borrough and the surrounding mountains. Amy was kinda scared coz it was sooo high, but she survived... barely ahahha;)
At a certain moment RJ screemed like a kid: "Look, there are mountain lions!" and as we approached them they turned out to be just regular dogs hahahahaha. RJ and his kid-immagination ahaha. With Amy we couldnt stop to laugh at him. ;)
As we arrived on the top we headed to the Buddha statue, it was huge and looked fantastic. But first we had to climb some hundreds steps and it was hot and humid although no sun on that day. Fortunately up there there was this nice chilling wind, so we stayed there a bit and rested.
Then we drank something and rode downt to town. We were kinda late for the meeting with Zoe, but we stuck in the metro system, coz the gates didnt want to let us out. I had to intervent by the station stuff and finally they gave us new tickets coz the old ones got blocked.
A bit late but alive we met Zoe at the peak tram station went back for some food and dropped Amy at the metro. Then we rode the steep old tram to the top of the mountain, had there the hongkongese speciality - coffe+milk+black tea with nice view over the Hongkong.
As we got back down we rode few stations with Zoe towards her home, then we all went our own ways.
Xie xie Zoe, it was fun meet u there and i hope we will meet again in one month as we have to get back to Hongkong before we go home.
