I think I fall on Love with Cusco. Magic place, cool people, explossion of positive energy. Its a place which deserve to be visit over and over again !!!!!! And do not forget about the food =)

My second trip to Cusco

Once you have rest, drinking your coca tee, and taking your high´s pill (remember that the high can give you soroche... and if you suffer from migrana, like me.... prepare your self....) you can start the city tour....

Ok I this was my second trip to Cusco. My first one was long long ago... at the age of  9 ...not quite sure.  It was a family trip and for the people who dont know, in Peru we had a resesion, well were close to hit on a crisis.  ... we cheated the school so we stayed there almost a month!!! yeah a month.  "cool when you dad tell you to dont go to school, doesnt it????  To pity that happen once in your all live..... lol ".

The economy situtation put us in the most cheapest hostels, and in those period, the turism wasnt so developed like the currents days. Rooms were very cold, and you didnt find warm water when you wanted. Yeah and you had to be very creative to cook your meal with the basic . Ok I need to confess I HATED  IT!!!! The rooms of the hostels were soooo tinny and you didnt have warm water all the day.

And going to Machupicchu was a night dream from me, yeah between the highs sickness and the moskitoes.. we could say I dont remember anything more.

Heard that my friends liked to go there over and over again, and with the memories I had, I never said, I will go there too.

But being on a age crissis (close to hit the 30), and being on a crisis with your partner "supouse fiancé" really push you on situation you never ever tough. Sooo took my credit card and purchase a crazy trip. Since I was not ok, the target for the trip (apart of having the conclusion if he was the one for me, and be sure if I wanted to get married ) was being pampered.  Thats the reason I chose the most expensives places to stay at  =)    Hey dont blame on me, we do crazy things when are on crisis.

Koricancha. The ruins are around Cusco and near the Mayor court. You can go to some places just walking..
... lol.

Anyway, the important thing is that we learn from our good and bad experiences, and I had learned a lot from this trip.

a) He wasnt the one.  At least I found out that before doing something stupid.. (yeah getting married,  lol)

b) To have an awesome trip you dont need to stay in exclusives places. It is the company , the people you have around, and the mood you decide to have and give which makes the adventure and have the best time of ever.

c) Dont go into the schedule tours method. It only makes you to skip the details.

d) Do not go into the plann adiction..... just get the  most important stuffs booked, and do not swim upstreams...... =)

This is the tour I took

I left Lima at 4:30 am, it tooks around 1 hour to arrive in Cusco, This is a tip: before book your hotel ask about the check- in time, or you will arrive early and would need to walk around until you get a room.

This is the entrance from the Hotel. From outside it is nothing else, but once you go inside..... OMG !!!!!!!
Why is important to get a room?? because you need to get acclimate. Cusco is very high and if you do not rest at least the first hours you arrive, you can get the high sicknees, yeah very disgusting feeling for starting a tour...

The first hotel we (sorry I ) went was the Monasterio. The travel agency sent us a truck wich picked us up and dropt over there. When we arrived, they havent the suite ready, so needed to stay at the lobby, but it was fine, the atmosphere was excelent and the couch very confortable, I waited for almost 30 min. They offer the coca tea, which I accepted inmediately

The manager offered  room they had ready, but it wasnt the kind I asked for, I said fine but before that I needed to check it out. For luck said that, it was a 2 bed room and they put the beds together, and said voila.

This is one of the greatest hotels in Cusco. The name is Monasterio. This view is from the court yard.
.. I said NOOOO WAYYYY , I booked a suite and that was the room I wanted :D .... hey for $500 at night, hey MUST give you what you booked.....

Then I got the suite, and was OMG ,  I have never been in a so luxury place like that. After some hours of sleep , had to get ready for the city tour, met the group at the mayor court at 2 pm. I visited the Qorikancha, the Catedral, and went to visit 4 ruins around the city: Qenqo, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay. It was not a good idea to start with the city tour in the first day, yeah did the mistake of falling on the tour schedule.

Since I went in dec, time to time the rainning clouds appear , but it was fine, nothing that a normal jacked couldnt do.

The next day went to Machupicchu, took Perutrail train company and chosed the vistadoom.

Whats the different of a normal vagon??? Well you have a glass window on the roof, and that makes you able to see the nature and not get the closed feeling.... hey it is around 3-4 hours... why??? because it need to go at 60km/hour!!!! yeah. Positive points... you can see the towns near the trail, the fields, and meet people.

I arrived Machupicch at 10 am, and took the bus. Since my second night was going to be at the sactuary loadge, I have told that could leave my case at the bus station, so fund the guy from the hotel and left everything. And  started to rain again... I was a little disapointed because the fog and the kind of weather I was.... BUT for luck it went away, so I could take the pics I showed on my blog.

I felt so sorry for the people who arrived later, in rainning season it is better going early, so u can have more choises to find a clear sky.

At 12 it started to rain as a hell !!!! Me??? I was already in the dinning room enyoing my buffe lunch :D

I was kind of tired so that night really helped me to recover energy. Next day in the morning took the camera and started a taking pic´s walk .  That hotel has a orchidean garden in the back side... just incredible. If you go there and the room is not ready they have a little bungalow upstairs, with a TV, couches, bathroom and it has an increadble view.

Since it started to rain at the time I left the hotel, went to the market shop and got wet in the mayour court... hey the rain is funny... Then went to a soda and ate an ice cream while was waiting the train to go back to Cusco.

I arrived Cusco at night... Be carefull for this... some tours operators tell to get out the train a station before the last stop.

Inside the Koricancha
If you are not in a tour DO NOT DO IT. In that station there are only cabs and vans for people from the tour package. I saw some many people leaving the train because some people like me did... but they realize there werent enough cars and taxis, and am afraid some stayed over there and lost the train.  Yeah nothing funny at all.

Why the tourist operatos ask this,,,,, beacuse it is much faster going out in that station and go to Cusco City by car... believe me much much faster.

The 3rd night I spent at Casa Andina Private Collection... it was ok I ordered a pizza delivery. Pizzas are good options, they are made on the traditional way.

Next day took the Sacrey Valley tour  (I had a fight with my ex soo  I spend almost all day taking pics ).

. YAY , did I ever mentioned that taking pics is my favourite hobby :D ... yeah I was kind of happy... what a contradiction, isnt it????  Yes that was a clue of the desition I was going to take later.....

I went to Piscac . They should mention that the trail is very small and near the clift , and it is so crowed... so if someone doesnt like the high, should think about going there.

I got a nice buffet at Urubamba and at the end went to Fortaleza de Ollantaytambo.

I came back at night and went to the last hotel : La sonesta. I liked the fact that that hotel was in front the market, it was a street market and stay almost all day and night. It is a good place to buy sourveniers if you forgot to get that days before :D

I decided it was not my last trip to Cusco, there is something else I want to get into.

At the weekend there are so many little markets, they keep open until midnight.....
... The night life in Cusco :D.... I couldnt enjoy that the first time I went over there (hey remember I was 9),  either the second time... I was engaged and he didnt like to go dance and go to pups... hey dont kill me we do stupid things when are inlove, who doesnt????

I really liked this trip. I was soooo pampered :) , not highsickness, not moskitoes.... Too bad that the relationship went to hell, But the things happen for a reason. Cusco is a great city to visit and stay, the people are very nice. It could be not my perfect trip but we learn so much from each experience and travels. This one showed me the big mistake I was sooooo close to  make. ffffuuuiiiiii Keri is Saved !!! YAY  :D

CUSCO ..... Wait for me.

There are so many ruins near the city, that in the first tour they take you to at least 6 places. Prepare to walk for a while and do not forget a jacket and a gap.
.. I will come back !!!   :D    The day havent settle down yet, but could be the next year :D

Tips for a travel:

a) Take with you soroche pills (highs pills)... (If you are not used to take pills , take only the half.). Keep the blister allways with you.

b) ask the hotel about the check in / out so once you arrive you will get a room to rest a little

c) Take a jacket with you, if it is not rainning it is cold .

d) Express the type of room you want. If you book one with a view, they must give you one with a view. Do not let them cheating on you!

I got what I got because I kept  strong in my desition. and nope they never charged me more on the bill.

a very luxury hotel in the middle of the world
This is the best hotel I ever have been...
Everything had so many details... from the lobby, to the suite, the terrace, the court yard, the multiple gardens, the restaurant... everything.

The bed was so soft that you just close the eyes at once.... and yes it is hart to wake up in the morning. All you want is stay warm in that great bed.

The people were very kind. I almost got lost with so many stairs and halls.

That hotel has a little church, that allows you to organize a wedding. Could you beleive that?? Have the ceremony over there and the party in the principal restaurant.... Ohh and get this, they have special suites for the wedding night....

Incredible, isnt it???

If I get the chance, I would consider getting married in Cusco, yeah why not if it is the middle of the World????
