First day in Paris
May 25, 2009
We arrived at Orly airport at around 6.45pm, found the EuroDisney bus and got on. It left Orly at 7.30pm and I think it took about 40 mins to the main Disney busstation. From there we had to take a cab to get to the hotel.
The hotel is a story in it´s own. It´s supposed to be a 3 stars hotel, but in my book it deserve only 1 or at the most 2. As we walked in, the front desk was very small and only one person was working there. A man was there talking with the hotel employee and he was complaining that there were no towels in their room. Oh great, what a start to our stay, I thought. Anyway; I got us chceked it and found our room. Easy, as it was the very first room on the first floor... BUT, geez those doors. I thought every hotel had stopped using ordinary keys ages ago, but not here. And the doors are totally hopeless to open. Pull and turn they say.. Pull and turn my a**!! Had to get help.
Ok, we´re finally in, and the room is so so. At least I have internet access. LOL. We unpacked at headed out for a bite to eat. Had to walk for about 20 mins to get to the city center, and found a McDonalds that was open til 11pm. Most everything else was closing, except for bars and pubs. I don´t really like McDonalds, but it´s ok when I´m dead hungry.
We left there about 10.30pm and I had decided that we were going to take a cab back to the hotel. As we came outside, I noticed a guy sitting outside a place called Hippopotomus and asked if he spoke English. Even though he said just so so, I asked for Taxi and he gave us the best service... he just went inside and got his cell phone and called a cab for us. Awesome...
it was good to get back in the room and get some rest.
To be continued... ;o)
