Lunch at Château St. Gerlach
To make the day complete, we had a great lunch at Château St. Gerlach. This 12-century castle is situated in a baroque garden. This castle is owned by Camille Oostwegel. It is not my first visit to a castle from Camille Oostwegel. I have dined in another castle. Unfortunately it is not cheap, but the surroundings are stunning and unique.
There is a helicopter in the garden. Would there be a famous person visiting Château St. Gerlach? It wouldn’t be the first time. In 2005 president George W. Bush visited this castle. Incorporated in the castle is a gorgeous church. This church is very bright and has fresco’s.
Limburgse specialities are served during the lunch. After a nice walk through the gardens, we can choose one piece of the local delicacy: Limburgse vlaai. What a great day!
