Paramaribo
March 19, 2009
First we spent a few days in
We arrived on March 19, next day we did a city walk: the Historic Inner City of Paramaribo is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
It was impressive to see "Fort Zeelandia", the place where the December murders took place in 1982.
Beautiful are the wooden houses and buildings.
We had quite a rainy day, but later on during our trip we came back for "blue sky" photos :-))

Good location to explore Paramaribo
The Eco Resort Inn is on walking distance (about 10 to 15 minutes) to the historical city centre of Paramaribo. Watch your step when walking, the distance is short, but it is not a nice pavement.
Nice people at the desk. Fair rooms. In a timespan of 3 weeks we stayed 8 nights in this hotel, in 3 different rooms. No complains about the rooms or bathroom (good shower!).
Only remark is about the airconditioning, in 1 of the rooms we had to turn it down (too cold), result was a lot of water on the floor, very slippery.
Breakfast is okay. Bar aswell. Restaurant is simple. Better go in town.
As a guest of this hotel you can use the swimmingpool of 'next door' hotel Torarica (wich is a nice place!).
