home sweet home - was the one upstairs
I was sleeping very well, when suddenly I remembered it! Actually it made me remind it... what? The crazy rooster that loves to wake people at 4am!!!! And this time it wasn't alone. The owners of the hotel weren't in town, so the dogs were howling too, pffff. Then some birds joined the choir... but I wasn't the only one who was waken up by them, also Craig's and the rest of the guests' sleep was interrupted. Anyway, I was so tired that I could go back to sleep and didn't get up until 9 :P. That's so not me... In Lima I get up at 6am, but I was on holidays, hehehe.

We went downstairs and had breakfast. A fresh juice, coffee with a dash of milk and bread. Perfect! I don't know why there were so many cats there.
love this quote: "Good girls go to heaven. Bad girls go everywhere".
.. but all of them were cute. I think it was a whole family :) Our hard routine was getting started: breakfast - done! number 2: beach, hahaha. We went for our stuff and headed to the beach.

Craig was hopping the waves would be better today, but no luck... it was flat again... not a big problem for me, I was just thinking about sunbathing. While he was thinking about the sun screen, I was thinking about the tan lotion, hehehe. Oh well, when I met Craig in Lima we agreed I'd help him with Spanish and it was time to do it. He was reading a book or trying to and I'd help him with some words. At the end we thought the best would be that I read the book loud, but not in Spanish, but translating it at same time, OMG! It wasn't as easy as I thought...

Time for a break.
with Pedro's merchandise... well no sword this time... This time I was wearing a shark necklace, hehehe
He'd go to swim and I'd start reading my book, which was hilarious. It was like if I was a crazy girl just laughing alone, hahaha. Suddenly he was back! Pedro - the sword guy. No swords yet, but at least I got a pic with some of the stuff he was selling. Craig was back and we reassumed Spanish lessons for a bit longer. My job was being the teacher and his was being the timer: "flip, Yadi, flip".

It was around 1 and we were getting hungry. What to eat? Cebiche!!! having cebiche in the beach - unbeatable!!! There are so many restaurants along the beach. So we decided to try a different one everyday. Our lunches would always be about cebiche, yay! It was BBB: Bueno, Bonito & Barato (good, beautiful & cheap), hahaha. It was so fresh and tasty! Very good!!! After the tasty meal we stayed there for a while enjoying the nice day.
just relaxing

Now, we went back to the hotel to keep on with our hard routine. Step 3: pool! hahaha. This time I met 2 English girls, but I forgot to ask their names... oh well, we'd meet all the time :) I was back to my room, took a shower and decided to read for a bit before the sunset. The hammocks were so comfy, mmm, paradise... "it feels like home to me"... "home sweet home" ;)

As the day before we went to the beach for the sunset. This time I found it nicer, hehehe. We met Ramon there and the 3 of us were enjoying the gorgeous view. We were chilling out there until it got dark and we needed to move. During the morning we met the "happy guy" who told us he was waiting for us the night before. We told him we were looking for the pizzeria but couldn't find it. This time he gave us exact directions and we would go there for dinner.
sunset 6:13pm
Wow! this guy is unbelieavable! He's the baker, cook, salesman, works day & night and always with a huge smile :) Finally we found the pizzeria, which was a really small place. The 3 of us went there, but it didn't look very nice. Furthermore, it was empty. Ramon didn't feel sure about this place and would go and check buses and grab a bite somewhere else. Ok...

Craig turned to me and said: "it's up to you, spaghetti... (that was my nickname)". So, I was supposed to be the bad girl... well, I told him we should go back and take a second look. This time there were 2 guys there and they told us they tried the pizza the night before and was awesome! Ok, nothing else to think about. We were staying there. The "happy guy" saw us and came out to say hi. The pizza was cheap and so tasty, really home made, thin crust, good quality toppings, yummy!!!! Yes, the place didn't look very nice, despite it looked dirty and abandoned it was somehow charming.
nice kitty
The guy was telling me he was Argentinean and decided to move to Mancora because he was looking for a laid back place to live. Also he told me how hard was to start the business. So, another reason to come here: support his business. Oh the cat situation wasn't just something from the hotel. The pizza place was full of cats too, hahaha. They were lovely and we fed them with the crusts, but they were after the cheese, hahaha.

While we were walking back to the main road we met the English girls and then Ramon. Now, the 5 of us would go for a couple of drinks at a party they have been announcing since 2 days ago, hahaha. Well, that party wasn't that big. At least we had a drink and were chatting for a while.
new buddies: English girls, me, Ramon & Craig
The girls have been traveling around South America for almost 5 months, but the journey would be over soon. Well, they would stop in Lima for a couple of days and hopefully I'd be able to meet them in my hometown. I felt so jealous for being able to travel for such a long period of time... I think I have to start thinking about a long trip like that. Anyway, we could have stayed there longer, but there were mosquitoes and the drinks weren't that good. So, we decided to go back to the hotel. In our way back we stopped for water and this night Craig would wear earplugs in order to avoid the rooster, hahaha. Going to the beach withouth a hangover sounded good to me :)
