Taking the bus that would take me to the sunny north, can't wait long... :P

Yes, not 1 month ago I was in Mancora, but Lima was getting so cold. How could I say no to sunny days, beach, tan, fun, friends? Impossible! I was supposed to be there just 3 days but ended staying almost 1 week, no regrets at all! Routine was: breakfast, beach, lunch, pool, sunset, chilling out. What a hard life! Someone had to do it ;)

it was there for me ;)
Wasn't I recently in Mancora? So, why going there again so soon... well... it was getting cooler in Lima and I wanted some sun. So spending some sunny and fun days with friends in the Peruvian paradise was so tempting. I know I'm weak, I couldn't refuse this idea.

A TB, Craig, was in Lima about a week ago and we talked about the possibility of meeting in Mancora. Well, he was supposed to travel through the country and finally arrive there, but he was missing the beach so much that he ended up going straight there, hahaha. Me? Well, I had to spend mother's day in Lima and work, but I could go there for the weekend. Furthermore, a friend was going to Mancora too, yay! The more the merrier! Craig and me were in touch the whole time he was there, he would be the local this time, hahaha.
leaving the bus station

It would be my 3rd time in Mancora, but 1st time I'd go there by bus. That would be a looong journey: about 16 hours!!! Bus was cheaper than flying, but I decided to pay for a not so cheap bus, since the drive would last long. Actually Craig took the same and told me the service was great and it was really comfy. I wouldn't have any problems since I'm petite :P

Morning was crazy. I woke up early, worked for a while, went to the gym, worked again, had lunch with the family - an aunt had birthday - packed and it was time to leave. Packing was simple, how much do I need for a couple of days? Just my backpack with summer clothes, my laptop (because I was working, hehehe), Ipod, camera, chargers, cellphone, books and tan lotion! I took a cab to the station and was ready to leave.

I was sad about leaving Gunther, but had to be honest that was happy at same time, not about Gunther, about sunny beach :)

This was the 1st time I'd use this bus company and they are really good. I'm writing a review about them. The station was very nice and they were very punctual. Sweet! I found a blanket and pillow in my seat and what was better, nobody would sit next to me, which meant extra space for my loooong legs, hahaha.

We left Lima at 4:30pm. They even lent you books for read during the journey, at same time they were playing movies. I started to read, but was thinking about my "to do" list for Mancora: 1- getting tan (have to be tan in Lima), 2- tattoo, 3- fun and relax. We left the station and the parts of Lima I know. We moved to the north of Lima, which belongs to the city but it's a bit far away and so different, wow! My city is a city of contrasts!!!!

I never hang out there.

.. and remembered why... around 6pm they gave us a snack. I was reading the book they lent me, but it was so depressing and boring. The title was "behind close doors" but it was about domestic violence, what an awful plot! I have already watched the movie they were playing "La vita รจ bella" but I like this movie and preferred to watch it 1000 times over that depressing book... They stopped stop in a security control stop for a long time, about 40min... then we reassumed the bus drive. Incredible we were still in Lima...

It was funny how the thermometer/clock in the front indicated when somebody was using the WC, hahaha. Well, I was enjoying my big seat. Getting comfy, when they announced they were serving dinner. At 9pm, dinner was served.

How nice! I call this good service, hehehe. They gave us a drink - no alcohol was allowed - chicken with potatoes and rice and dessert. Also offered a hot drink ;)

Then they turned off the lights and played this movie "Australia". I haven't watched it, but listened to not so flattering reviews about it. Anyway, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and decided to check it. Result: I fall sleep, oooops! Sorry, it was really long although the first part was ok... anyway, sleeping sounded like a perfect way to kill the hours before arriving to the paradise!!! I went to be earlier than usual :P

This bus company is one of the best in the country, maybe the only reason why they aren't the 1st ones is because they don't have many destinations... at least yet.

Yes, they are a bit expensive for our standards, but totally worth it. I took them in order to go to Mancora, which lasts 16 hours and couldn't have chosen a better bus company.

First of all, their terminal is very well located. Not in downtown or a not so nice area. The station is comfortable, well organized and have a parking lot for the people who will come for you.

The buses are new, safe and the service is great. You have attendants and they also feed you. The quality of the food is good and the buses are full equipped.

As entertainment they play movies and lend you books to read during the journey.

They leave and arrive on time. All the staff are very helpful and kind. Not only in Lima, but also in the other cities.

I highly recommend to drive with them if you are in your way to the north and want to be spoiled :)

yes, that's the problem. You don't need to go to the station to buy the tickets, anyway the station in Lima is very well located in the business area. They have also some offices in other areas.
