arriving to Mancora town, yay!
The landscape started to change. We were going down a hill and I could see the beach town. Sky so blue, beaches, trees, just one word awesome! The 17hrs were worth, hehehe. Mancora has just 1 main road which is the highway, hahaha. And the buses don't have a station There. They just stop on the road. And... he was there for me, hahaha. Craig has been waiting for me, well after being in Mancora for about 1 week he was the local and I was the foreigner ;)

We walked to the chosen hostel. I have already booked it in my name, but they couldn't find the reservation when Craig asked for it. But no problems. There was plenty of space and he chose a room. We arrived and after taking a quick shower and unpacked a couple of stuff we were in our way to the beach, yay!!! Craig was telling me he was surfing the last days, but right now it was flat.
with Pedro, the sword guy!
.. anyway he'll try to do it. What about me? Well, trying to achieve one of my goals for the trip I decided to lay on the beach and started to get tan, hahaha. I was there, when I thought I saw a familiar face... could this guy be??? hahaha and he was! That was the guy who tried to sell me a sword last time in Mancora and which was so fun, he remembered me! So we started to chat. I told him I HAD TO get a picture with that sword, but he didn't have it. He had already sold it... but he would have smaller ones by the end of the week and we'd definitely meet the next couple of days.

Craig came back and the 3 of us were chatting, hahaha. The beach wasn't crowded and most of the people there, have been hanging around for the past few days and my local friend was telling me about the beach town customs, hahaha.
this dog must have really good teeth
It was about noon and a happy guy approached selling bread. I didn't want it, but Craig was a bit hungry and got one of the rolls. I tried a bite and it was delicious. The tomato, cheese & basil roll was soooo good. Also the salesman was so friendly and smiley, despite it was a hard job. We started to call him "happy guy" and "happy guy bread". He spoke perfect English and it turned to be that he had a pizza place, he gave us the directions and we agreed we'd go there in the evening. We had a plan for the dinner.

We were just relaxing there and Craig met a friend he has been hanging out with in Mancora. Ramon, this guy, was also hopping there would be good waves, but nothing. So after grilling for some time. Craig was helping me with the timer, hahaha. 30min front, 30min back.
cute girls... I think they were rowing to much ;)
"Flip, Yadi, flip!" hahaha. It was about 3pm and we went back to the hotel. There was a pool, so why not enjoy it? The 2 boys got sandwiches and I got a salad fruit. In our way back we bought some beer and we were just chilling out at the pool, what a hard life, lol!

Next step in our busy agenda would be going back to the beach to watch the sunset. We'd meet there. I went back to my room, took a shower and was about checking my email, but I decided not to be online at least for 24hrs, what a record! While we were waiting to get later - sunset time - I was reading and just enjoying the peaceful environment. At 6pm we went back to the beach. Ramon was already there. This was their sunset spot, hahaha. Sunset was very nice. We have really nice sunsets in Lima but not at this time of the year.
Ladies & Gentlemen: The Pisco Sour!
..

We stayed there until it got dark and they started to remove the chairs and tables. Ok, we got the message, time to move, hahaha. Let's go and look for the "happy guy" pizzeria. We tried to find it, but no luck... well, we might meet him tomorrow and we'd ask him about where is the pizzeria located. Poor guy, he might have been waiting for us. Ok, no plans for dinner now, but Craig was the local, so I'd accept any  suggestion. We'd have Mexican, hahaha. I remember when I was here I saw that restaurant but never tried it, although it looked very nice. Well, time to fix it! As we were celebrating my arrival, we got some Pisco Sours to toast. Then it was time for the food. We weren't sure what to order and the owner approached. He was a big and laid back dude, who gave us some suggestions and pointed some pictures on the wall.

Everything looked so tasty... Craig got the chicken burrito and I got a shrimp salad and let him having my avocado, hahaha. Meal was delicious! Really tasty!

Then we went back to the main road and met Ramon in a bar. He was with 2 girls. So we joined them for a couple of drinks and were hanging out with them. Ramon doesn't speak Spanish and the girls spoke broken English, so it was good the "Translator" showed up, hahaha. The girls left, but said they'd come back... we moved to another spot and stayed there for a while. The guys were talking about the surf perspectives for the next few days. They were hopping things get better soon. Ramon had to start going back to Lima but would like to surf in Mancora one more time. It was getting late and I haven't slept properly last night, so I was feeling a bit sleepy.
looks like Ket's type of signs hahaha
And since Ramon was a bit tired too and the girls never showed up, we decided it would be better if we went back to the hostel.

Yay!!! Finally a bed!!! This time I remember to bring repellent, hehehe. Mosquitoes wouldn't eat me now, hahaha. Was so tired that fall asleep immediately, but with the strange feeling I was forgetting something...
